Beginning of a new season, Quandary Peak

Set out on the 28th of April to Hoosier Pass above Brek. After spending much wasted breath convincing friends to come along I now camp alone in the McCullough Gulch to the north of Quandary at about 11,000 ft.

The morning was chilly. I woke to the call of nature just before the sun rose. I finished packing up my tent and gear by sunrise. I took a few snapshots and was off down the forestry road about a mile or so to the Monte Cristo trail head.

the summit of Quandary from the NE

The classic route up the East slopes is very straight forward.

Last push to the top, no false summits after this.

Author at the peak (14,265ft) left the trailhead at 7:30 and reached the top by 10:23. It was a beautiful day with small clouds first starting to come in from the west around 11:00 never raining or getting overcast.

Hanging around with some new friends.

Saw some Pika coming down hill as well. day for a hike. Made it down about 12:30.

St.Mary's

Amazing trip with Brandon, Ben, Myself and Jason(not pictured). Just up the st.mary's road. Had a few awesome hikes with awesome views of the valley and river. Hiking up the north ridge first then descending to another(different) lost lake. Super gorgeous just a lot of visitors, most people drive all the way up. This causes a lot of traffic on the trail and crowds at the top.

Forsyth Creek

went up in the summer of 2010
Possibly my favorite car camping site near Ned and the front range. This trip it was just Ben and myself but for a while we went up every weekend. A very good place to meet people and have a blast. The one mile trail follows forsyth creek to the falls and gross resevoir just below that. One of my favorite places.
11.06.19 Spotting some deer on south table mountain in Golden with Brandon B.

Lost Lake

11.07.10 Lost lake on the trail above Hessie Falls with Brandon B.

Hessie Falls

(11.07.10)Just west of Nederland highschool on a day Hike with Brandon B. This is Hessie Falls a tributary to Boulder creek. The falls are about 10-15ft over the last cut but higher up it cascades beautifuly through some amazing rock formations. This is just down canyon from kings and devils peaks and right close to Eldora ski area.
